Rwanda continues to carry the legacy of mass incarceration following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Many incarcerated individuals face spiritual emptiness, psychological and emotional trauma, family rejection, hopelessness, and limited access to healthcare and education.
GNPDR supports incarcerated persons and their families through:
• Trauma healing and psychosocial support
• Spiritual care and Bible engagement
• Life skills and vocational training
• Reintegration preparation
• Palliative care support for seriously ill and elderly inmates
• Victim-offender mediation and reconciliation initiatives
Our goal is to restore hope and dignity, reduce recidivism, and promote successful reintegration into society and social cohesion.
