GNPDR was established in response to the social, psychological, and economic challenges that followed the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. In the aftermath of mass trauma, incarceration, family disintegration, and widespread poverty, there was an urgent need for faith-driven, community-based interventions that would promote healing, justice, and sustainable peace and development. Over the years, GNPDR has grown into a trusted local organization working alongside churches, community leaders, correctional facilities, schools, healthcare providers, and international partners to restore lives and rebuild secure and resilient communities.
A country of hope where basic human rights are respected and peace upheld.
To alleviate human suffering and enhance social justice for marginalized people by shading the light into darkness, providing renewed hope to the hopeless and a voice to the voiceless.

GNPDR is led by the Board of Directors as a decision-making and governance body, which provides strategic orientation of the organization and provide accountability to the executive staff. The board is assisted by the Executive team headed by the Executive Director, who manages the organization on a day-to-day basis. In addition, GNPDR has project coordinators, and support staff who actively participate in the implementation of the projects.
GNPDR integrates faith-based compassion with professional standards of accountability and community participation. Our approach includes:
Community Engagement: We work closely with local leaders, faith communities, and families to ensure programs are culturally grounded and community-owned.
Holistic Support: We address spiritual, psychological, emotional, social, and economic needs simultaneously.
Transparency and Accountability: We maintain clear financial controls, documentation systems, and monitoring processes to ensure responsible stewardship of resources.
Partnership: We collaborate with churches, civil society organizations, correctional institutions, and international partners to maximize impact.
Our work continues to restore hope and rebuild lives across Rwanda.
